PRCCI is celebrating a new addition to our team: Astrid Díaz Quiñones
The role of the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is crucial for ensuring the development of clinical research in Puerto Rico. Because of this, PRCCI is happy to introduce Astrid Díaz as our new CRC. In her role, she will provide support to the operations and quality team and work directly with our clinical research sites to help them during their start-up process on trials and through the completion of studies, as she had previously done as a CRC.
Díaz has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus, and a Master’s in Science Degree in Public Health with Epidemiology Specialty from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, School of Public Health. She has worked as a study coordinator on different clinical trials in the area of neurology. Also, she has coordinated genetic and observational studies in the area of multiple sclerosis with universities in the United States.
For her, PRRCI gives her the opportunity to contribute to the Puerto Rican population to have more treatment opportunities, while also expanding knowledge and skills on the execution and operation of clinical trials. Within the organization, she is able to support our mission and increase the participation of Hispanic patients on clinical trials to be able to find benefits for our communities. With motivation and energy, Díaz takes this challenge for the benefit of our people. She is very excited to contribute her knowledge to the team and continue to grow with them.
Congratulations to Astrid on this new position!
