YCCI Exposures Pilot Summer Internship Program

The pandemic has impacted the life of everyone, including the availability of blood in Puerto Rico. Thousands of people need blood because of accidents, medical treatments, illnesses, disasters or emergencies, as well as patients hospitalized due to COVID-19, said Dra. Amarilys Silva-Boschetti, PharmD, BSPharm, RPh, executive director of the Puerto Rico Consortium for Clinical Investigation, a subsidiary of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust.

With the attendance of recognized clinical research leaders, the Puerto Rico Consortium for Clinical Investigation (PRCCI) celebrated its fifth anniversary focusing on advances in the fight against COVID-19, and the local experience in clinical investigation. It also paid tribute to research sites in Puerto Rico and to collaborators in and off the Island.

The Puerto Rico Consortium for Clinical Investigation (PRCCI) held its first Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Training Program in Puerto Rico recently in partnership with Barnett International, a leader in clinical research training.

PRCCI is committed to contribute to the development of Puerto Rico’s clinical research ecosystem talent, including within its team. The organization is focused on prioritizing education while opening doors for undergraduates and recent graduates.
